Originally formed as Barry, McTiernan, Treanor & Moore in October 1930, the Firm continues to have a significant and effective presence throughout the Tri-State area. Our storied history in all areas of insurance defense litigation has enabled the Firm to establish a well known reputation for dealing successfully with complex, high exposure multi-district litigation in several jurisdictions.
Currently, the Firm has over 35 attorneys handling matters in various areas of defense litigation. Just as the Labor Law has significantly developed over the past 10 years, Barry, McTiernan and Moore’s Labor Law Defense Unit has remained at the forefront of this cutting edge practice. The Firm currently represents some of the world’s largest general contractors, contractors and construction managers involving projects as large as the World Trade Center rebuilding effort and as specialized as storefront construction and renovation.

The Firm’s main office is located in the historic Financial District of Lower Manhattan. With its main location at 2 Rector Street, the office services the City's five boroughs as well as Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The Firm also maintains offices located in Westchester County serving Upper New York State; Journal Square, New Jersey servicing the entire state; and our recently opened office in Trumbull, Connecticut.
